Pure Ice Busted

Lately, when its time to choose a polish for my daily mani, I am reaching for a shade of purple......Today I picked a franke I named 'Ditto' that I made 3 years ago. It's since it's been a while since I have worn Pure Ice Busted, here it is layered over 3 coats of my franken I made. I searched and searched through my picasa photstreams and even googled every conceivable combination of words but cannot find the name of that franken or the post about it..... maybe I erased it. I know it was an older Sally Hansen polish called Radish, mixed with a shimmery skin toned polish called Peanut shell and some white creme.....

These are my real nails.......I miss my artificial nails soooooo much!I hope to be finished up with all my digging and gardening, as well as my dainty intense jewelery making ( maybe I will finally post some stuff to my Jewelery Blog )

Update; ( lol ) here is the post about franken

Pure Ice busted looks great over anything..... One day I will dig out the ugliest polish I own  ( Sally Hansen Hyacinth ) and layer it over that monstrosity.  Pure Ice Busted, Oh Baby, Rio and Heartbreaker are fabulous polish's for layering. I hope that when Target stores open up in Canada they start selling them there.

Franken, Pure Ice Busted Nailene TC and on my ring nail is 2 coats of WnW Disturbia

Was the last time I wore this franken polish really 3 years ago?  - Yes it was........  I miss those long trophy wife nails..... Its been a while since I have glued some of these babies on....................

in bright sunlight......... teenie tiny shimmery bits

On my ring nail is Wet n Wild Disturbia... since I was writing about it the other day...........................

Subtle Shimmer - Claire's Magic Franken

I don't know how this slipped into my blog drafts..... not to be read for months, because I really, really like htis shade of lilac with the subtle shimmer. I used Claire's Magic and Billie Cosmetics White to make this franken. This was 2 coats that I added the Origional polish - Claire's Magic - in a chevrone french tip.

Claire's Maguc and my Franken made by adding a white creme

I was pleased when the sun peeked out and I could grab some photos that shocased the subtle shimmer in my franken.

Flim Flam! Franken

I found this awesome glitter at THE DOLLAR TREE CANADA! and had to whip up a franken ASAP. My heart was set on a pink/orange combo but this rediculously bright yellow flourecent glitter swayed me to whip up a 'Floam' like mani first.

I thought that the clear polish I usually use for fankens would dissolve the colour of the glitter but after two days there is still no bleeding......

I used a base of Wet n Wild White and applied 3 coats of my fanken 'Flim Flam!' This was a hungry glitter and even after  3 coats of TC it is still bumpy. I am excited to wip up at least 2 more of these with the neat glitter I found at THE DOLLAR TREE IN CANADA!!!!!

I found these awesome glitters at THE DOLLAR TREE CANADA! I am happy that The Dollar Tree stores showed up in the big city ( Wpg ) ..... Now if a Diaso would end up in my Provence somewhere I would never complain about my nail polish availability ever again!

I also picked up some beads and a few other crafty things.... no nail polish this time. They had a few displays of Billie Cosmetics nail polish which was awesome, but I already have evey single one!

These are matte neon glitter, I think I will make a green and purple mix next. The other package of glitter is a sheer easter-grass-like glitter which also did well in the clear nail polish base I use....

Always have tape on hand to seal up these little packages of glitter!!!!

I mixed up the yellow and blue ( this is supposed to be a good photo of the re-sealed glitter packs )

stuff i used ( check out that settling )

clockwise from thumb - 1 coat, 2 coats and 3 coats with blobby touch-ups

here is 1 coat - note that texture, this was still bumpy after 2 coats of TC

..... and a few more photos

I don't forget about my Frankens

The base of this dotty manicure is a lovely mint franken, and the dots are also frankens.... I used a dotting tool to make the dots. The polish I used are Frankens i made over 2 years ago........Here is the original post

 the Franken dots......

from a previous post  ( 2 1/4 years ago!!! )

and some Saran Wrap nail art......

So the last sponge mani I did left some major bubbles! Over on ChromaCraze  I read about using saran wrap bunched up to apply/remove polish and it worked out perfect. It creates a different look then sponging does, with none of the bubbles and much less texture.

I used 2 of the same frankens from my dotty manicure above. I started with 2 coats of the lighter colour, then dipped some scruunched up saran wrap into a few drops of the darker franken. I was surprised that the blurple shimmer showed up on my nails .....

I also tried brushing on a layer of the darker polish, then using the saran wrap to remove it. This also worked out well.

Black Crackle

Today I was lazy, so I slapped on a lovely blue franken I made with Wet n Wild Caribbean Frost and a bright white creme. I added 1 coat of Ardene Black Crackle and a coat of TC. I like how this is a stringy crackle...... and not a chunky crackle. I am really not a fan of the whole crackle look.

I was very happy to see so many people put the effort into 'fish egg mani Friday'. When I checked the cost to purchase and ship the real Caviar Mani from Sephora Canada I was flabbergasted! = but soooooo proud of my frugality and bargain shopping.

Check out what I'm trademarking.... The Golf Ball Mani

I had to scrape off those little balls after 3 1/2 hours..... and this is what my nails looked like after.....neat huh? I used a scrape-ey manicure tool to scrape them off then used the nail polish remover I always use. I only spotted a few of those pretty copper microbeads around the house ( for those that were asking ) They hung on for a surprisingly long time considering I just applied top coat then poured the microbeads on my nails......

Here is the franken I made with Wet n Wild Caribbean Frost and a white creme

Tha last time I was in the mall they were stocked up with at least 50 of these in black.

Stretch that mani!

 ( I totally photo-shopped this photo )

I took these photos in the early EARLY morning sun.I wanna try doing my nails and taking photos early in the mornings as I am more likely to complete a blog post that day. My usual routine is to do my nails in the evening, having a bit more time to devote to nail art and experimenting, but I find that I start looking at nail blogs, and run out of time to post my own stuff or even finish my manicures! Does this happen to anyone else?

Here is an interesting question..... I know I can easily spend hours looking at nail blogs and nail art videos on you tube ( pinterest and google....anywhere  )

How much time do you estimate you spend per week looking at nail polish related stuff?

Has this already been covered somewhere else? If so let me know in the comments. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Today's nails are an update of my mani from yesterday. I removed the polish from my ring nails, then re-painted with my franken Purple Plain, then sponged on China glaze Grape Juice on the to 3/4 of my nails, added another coat of Top Coat, then affixed these lovely nail gems that I picked off of a scrapbook sticker from Micheal's craft store.....so far they are holding on just fine.

from yesterday

The early morning light totally washed out this fabulous franken. I thought that just a big nail gem plunked down on my nail would look weird so I sponged on some China Glaze Grape Juice. I like how this turned out and have a similar photo in my 'nailspiration' folder but in green......

Purple Plain- a new franken

I started with a base of Billie Cosmetic's Purple Rain....a bright fuchsia  it is nowhere near purple, but by adding Claire's Matte Blue it became a lovely neon purple. I'll dig through my stash and see what I can compare this franken to. In the mean time I am delighted with how this franken turned out.

I painted my ring nails with the original polish, I think these two colours look awesome together.

Here is Billie Cosmetics Purple Rain used in a previous manicure..... I cant believe I don't have a single plain photo of this polish.... and I cant believe this is labeled as purple, when it is clearly fuchsia..... I should re-name it Fuchsia Rain lol

below without top coat, this franken has a pearl finish.

Those brush strokes disappear with TC, and better application (not speed-polish like I did today)

I love the way this bottle looks, with the polish not totally mixed in - Isn't that cool?

.... and an indoor fluorescent lighting shot, these types of bright pinks rarely photograph accurately with my camera, so I try to take sunshine pic's

.. and one more photo
