pretty pink Gradient sponge with opalescent TC

i was happy to find this Icing Top coat in the bargain bin at the closest Icing store to me in Minot N.D. in the summer of 2013. Icing Baby Doll top coat has multi-sized opalescent glitter. The formula is the same as most Icing brand nail polish that I have tried, it didn't do much to smoothe out the lumpy sponged polish, and I dont feel like it sped up my dry time, the multi-sized opalescent glitter is mesmerizing. I think that this will be very pretty over a dark royal blue or even black...... next time.

The base of this Mani is a gradient sponge of 2 pretty pink no-name nail polishes from Kozmic Colors that I found at the DollarRama. I have about 75 of these Kozmic color polish's they are found at the Dollar Tree and also at the DollarRama in Canada. They are dirt cheap and this company is cranking out new collection every 6 months, and so I try and get the whole collection at once when I see it.

yes I know this is janky masking tape,  I try to recycle whenever I can

in dimmer lighting for maximum opalescent-ness.......opalescent-ey......opalescent-tivity

SORRY! ................ and Kosmic Colors Zebra nail art from the dollar-rama

I had to erase my blog-roll and do a bunch of other stuff to my blog layout ---- hopefully everyone has blog-lov'in or some other type of blog-reader-thingy, and won't miss my massive list of NAIL BLOGS for a week or two. When i have time this weekend i will have to figure out what to do about that. i wasn't able to edit it and people who abandoned their blogs, somehow their blogs turned into ads for companies and things I do not want to be associated with - so I had to erase the whole thing and I will have to start over.

I get bummed out when some of my favorite blogs stop posting, or don't post as much as usual, and so I am  sorry for doing that myself. I am straight up addicted to the Internet. = I could stay online from morning till night reading and looking at pictures of all sorts of things. I wish I had dial up cuz I would get frustrated easily and only have the patience for 1/2 hr of Internet a day LOL! So I have to just stay away all together

I am still alive but I am trying to not buy nail polish, and not spend 3 hours a day looking at nail blogs, nail art pictures, Pinterest and DIY websites (decor and do-it-yourself blogs) It is super duper hard!

I have also been bribing myself with new nail polish PURCHASES when I get things done around my home = it's not really working but I have reduced my ass-to-couch time quite a bit, and I am pretty proud of that. I still do my nails and try all the new easy nail art technique's I have found on-line. I am still only allowed to buy bottles of nail polish if they are under $2.00 CAD, The Dollar-Rama in Canada has been a goldmine for polish lately.

Which brings me to today's post. This is 2 pretty polish's from the Kosmic Colors line that I picked up last summer.... ( summer of 2013)  I used 3 coats of the No-Name Pink, and used a small liner brush to make the Zebra Stripes in this No-Name Red. I added a sloppy coat of the Wet n Wild ' Clear Nail Protector that I found at The Dollar-Rama......

stuff I used

I haven't really put this to the test, It dried pretty fast and shiny but didn't totally disguise the bumpy finish of my Zebra nail art. I am trying to stay away from thick, but incredibly shiny and smoothe Top Coats and am trying to use thinner Top coats. I'll make the sacrifice and have a lumpy/bumpy texture mani, to prevent having to use Acetone to remove polish if I can.

These are my real nails! - I can't beleive it either!

Pink dots with Sinful Colors

Dang! I was doing so good with posting, then I fell off the blogg'in wagon for 5 days - Oh well here I am now with a lovely and easy to do dotty mani. I started with a base of Wet n Wild White, I used a dressmaking pin to make the lighter and bigger dots, then used a regular sized dotting tool to add the other two pink colours.

No TC in these photos - - I find it is way easier to take pictures indoors without top coat I also find that my camera  will not take crisp macro photos of bright pink and orange colours indoors if I wear top coat = weird!

Sinful Colors Boom Boom, 24/7 and Cream Pink

Icing Love-It and Wet N Wild Candy-Licious

I love all sorts of glitter but this polish wasn't glittery enough for me. I  recently visited an Icing Store and picked up quite a few of these Icing polishes. We used to have one in the nearest big city but they closed down, it was one of the only reasons I even went to the mall in that town. Anyways, this is a blue/gold/magenta/black glitter that I found too sparse for my glitter neeeds - but I love black glitter right now so  I suppose I will hang onto it.

The base is 3 coats of a light pink creme from Wet N Wild Megalast. I am loving these Megalast polishes from Wet n Wild. I probably could have added another coat as I had a few sparse areas but it was a nice day and I wanted to hang out outside.

WnW Mega Last Candy-Licious on its own... 3 coats

......... and here is another pretty WnW Mega Last mani; I heard it Through the Grapevine.  2 coats.

I used this L.A. Colors top/base for this mani and I don't think it dried fast enough..... next time I will give it more time to dry as a base coat. The smudge was not due to the polish but to clumsiness on my part; I really should try to sit still for at least 3 minutes immediately after I paint my nails lol. To disguise the smudge I dabbed on a little more WnW Heard it Through the Grapevine then added a coat of Wet n Wild Fast Dry Hannah Pinktanna.

This polish bottle magically opened by itself and leaked all over the place. I dont recall many blog posts about this basecoat/topcoat, maybe there is a good reason why? Or I need to let it dry a little bit longer before applying my nail polish.

stuff I used Wet n Wild Mega Last I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Fast Dry Hannah Pinktanna & L.A. Colors Base coat/Topcoat.

Hanna Pink Tanna and Blue Wants to be a millionaire are pretty holographic glitter polish's that have saved so many manicure crisis's, the brush's are a little stiff but these are great to have around for nail polish snafu's.

Double French Tips?

Here's a mani from a  few months ago.... I wasn't totally happy with the darker purple colour that I chose, but because blogger isn't working for me and I cannot upload all the photos I want to I'll post this instead. I started with a base of Billie Cosmetics in Turquois ( lol )  - I let it dry then affixed thin tape to my nails and added 2 coats of Billie Cosmetics Mauve ( lol ). I should have done a better job and added more coats of Mauve, or at least filled in some of the bare spots.  When everything felt dry I removed the tape and added 1 coat of top coat......

Next time I will use a more opaque polish and more than one coat of TC.

Stuff I used - Billie Cosmetics Turquois and Billie Cosmetics Mauve ( lol at those names )

STARBURST NAILS

Here is a fun and easy way to use nail art stripe polishes. I started with a  base of Sally Hansen Complete Salon in Plum Luck, a rich purple creme..... I added wispy strokes of LA Colors metallic pink and Kiss nail art in pink glitter...... I gave that a few minutes to settle up before sparsely applying a Sally Hansen X-treme wear in Strobe light which is a silver and pink multi-sized holographic glitter then lightly sprinkled on some magenta holo glitter ( from summer 2010 ).

I like this nail art and have done it many times with different colours over the years......

stuff I used; SH CSM Plum Luck Art Deco Metallic Pink, Kiss Pink Glitter, SH X-treme Stobe Light

#1 pink metallic

#2 pink glitter stripe,  silver/pink holo, sprinkle of loose magenta holo glitter

#3 TC and pink rhinestone

2 more glamour shots. I can't complain about my camera but I will mention that trying to take photos of hot pink or magenta coloured objects does not turn out well most of the time.

please don't eat me lol

Diagional Mani w/ Revlon polish

Here is a simple diagional mani with Revlon polish. I picked up one of those 5 sets of Revlon polish's at a discount store for 10 bucks. Like almost every Revlon polish I have they were sheer and needed 3 to 4 coats to opacity and to hide any bare spots. Plum Seduction and Emerald City were the exception, but the other three below, No Shrinking Violet, Craving Coral and Beach need 3 or more coats to opacity. I do love all 5 shades, and @ 2 bucks each I cant really complain that much.

I have noticed Revlon Polish as well as Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicures polish showing up at DollarRama stores in Canada with some pretty colours, I try to snap up th Sally hansen's but am skipping the Revlons due to their track record of rediculouly sheer and slow drying. (  I'm so mean !!! )

L-R=No Shrinking Violet, Emerald City, Craving Coral, Beach, Plum Seduction

For this mani I started with 2 coats of No Shrinking Violet, waited for it to dry, then applied the tape diagioanlly across my nails, then added 1 coat of Plum Seduction ( I needed 2 but I was lazy ) I gave it a few minutes and removed the tape and added 1 coat of TC. I did have some polish bleed under the tape:(

2 coats of No Shrinking Violet. This is a pretty colour but very sheer and I DEMAND 2 coats to opacity for all my nail polish's.

I found this tape at the office supply store - it is used for taping off sections of  a white-board to create charts and schedules etc... it works on dry nails just like scotch tape.....

stuff I used for this Mani

Plum Seduction is a beautiful dark purple metallic - needs 2 thick-ish coats though......

Pink Sponge with new Dollar Tree Polish's

This Mani was 3 coats of a no name Donna Michelle nail polish that I found at The Dollar Tree in Canada. I googled the name of this polish = but they don't have real names! So I am calling this Pink while the other polish shown below will be Dark Purple..... I thought for sure they would be one of those ultra stinky polishes from overseas but it wasn't that bad.

These Donna Michelle nail polish's appear to be in similar bottles to Klean Color nail polish's...... they also smell somewhat similar. Has anyone else tried these?

On it's own I fell like this took longer to dry then say..... Sally Hansen X-treme Wear polish or Wet n Wild - Wild Shine. It is a beautiful colour and for 1 dollar I can't complain. It looked like most of the polishes available at The Dollar Tree at the time were already taken in the display, so if I head to the big city again anytime soon I hope to pick up a few more of these.

After wearing this pink polish alone for the morning I had to I add a beautiful pink foil nail polish to the tips of my nails ..... I sponged on Billie Alloy, which is a light pink foil nail polish. Billie Cosmetics are another brand of polish that is available at the Dollar Tree. Check out this photo from summer - - ( from WPG, MB, by Hooters on St. James lol )
