Icing Shredded with Icing Swept Away

"Shredded and Swept Away', that sounds like a painful autobiography title. This was 3 fast drying coats of icing Shredded over a pretty grey creme. THIS POLISH SMELLED AWEFUL - but it's so cool! I don't think I have ever used an Icing polish that smelled bad. It is definitely going to go into my smelliest nail polish list.  This mani is 3 coats of Icing Shredded layered over 2 coats of Icing Swept Away.

Icing Swept Away is a medium grey that has a bit of purple to it. The formula was the same as all the other  Icing polish's in a creme finish I have tried - It definitely smelled like a normal nail polish, lol.

I did not add TC to this mani as I took it off immediately after the photos. I didn't want to have a smelly nail polish on my nails when it was potato chip night!... As you can see from the photos and as with most of these types of polish's =  at least 2 thick coats of TC are needed to hide the bumpiness.

I want to wear this polish again in the near future but I plan on adding copious amounts of TC to disguise the smell ( and bumpyness ). Has anyone else out there used an Icing polish  that smelled aweful?

@ 1 coat ~ I was hoping I would get a bit more coverage of the black shards considering the polish  looks pretty dense in the bottle - I was a little disapointed at the first coat but this polish dried fast.

@2 coats ~ The black shards started to fill in the sparse areas. For the third coat I tried to pick up a few of the black pieces in the neck of the bottle and dab them on where my nail was a little too bare. I added a final dip and sweep and called it a mani!

Rhinestones and the best black polish......................

When I looked at the profile of my nails I thought; Stegosaurus. Am I right? This mani is 1 coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme, followed by a no-name clear nail polish that I used to adhere these light green resin gems to my nails vertically. I didn't add a top coat which would have secured these for the day - I had some painting/sanding and other house stuff to do.

The resin gems were purchased at the Dollarama 2 years ago, I used a piece of spaghetti that I licked to pick up the gems and place them on my nails..... I really like this look ---- next time I will be a little more patient with my placement and really adhere these with a thick layer of TC.

Smells sorta like

.........when your swimming in a pool on an extra humid day and your in and out of the pool several times and dry yourself off with a towel  and that towel stays damp and the chlorine smell doesnt dissipate like it would on a normal day....... then you put that towel in a duffle bag and leave it in your car overnight........Thats what this polish from CR smells like.

But - it is a pretty polish. It has short holographic bar glitter and small round holographic glitter.... It's gel like consistancy makes spreading the glitter around for a good glitter to base-color ratio hard to acheive.

I slapped a coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme over the black artificial nails I posted yeasterday, then added 2 coats of 'CR' holo bar glitter and a coat of TC....... and of course there is no sunlight to really show off the holo......lol.

Black Crackle

Today I was lazy, so I slapped on a lovely blue franken I made with Wet n Wild Caribbean Frost and a bright white creme. I added 1 coat of Ardene Black Crackle and a coat of TC. I like how this is a stringy crackle...... and not a chunky crackle. I am really not a fan of the whole crackle look.

I was very happy to see so many people put the effort into 'fish egg mani Friday'. When I checked the cost to purchase and ship the real Caviar Mani from Sephora Canada I was flabbergasted! = but soooooo proud of my frugality and bargain shopping.

Check out what I'm trademarking.... The Golf Ball Mani

I had to scrape off those little balls after 3 1/2 hours..... and this is what my nails looked like after.....neat huh? I used a scrape-ey manicure tool to scrape them off then used the nail polish remover I always use. I only spotted a few of those pretty copper microbeads around the house ( for those that were asking ) They hung on for a surprisingly long time considering I just applied top coat then poured the microbeads on my nails......

Here is the franken I made with Wet n Wild Caribbean Frost and a white creme

Tha last time I was in the mall they were stocked up with at least 50 of these in black.

Essence High Spirits with LA Colors Stripe Polish funky french

..... looks like I need a little more practice with glitter stripe polish.

So I finally found these Essence nail polish at Shoppers Drug Mart (Canada). I picked up a few but wanted to try Essence High Spirits right away. I was surprised that this was only 3 coats for me, I imagined this would be a watery sheer polish, but it applied perfectly and I had great opacity in 3 coats.

stuff I used for this mani - Essence High Spirits, LA Colors Silver Glitter, LA Colors Black, and Billie Cosmetics Black ( and Nailene Top Coat )

I used LA Colors Stripe polish in black to make the line, then filled it in with Billie Black... I couldn't find my trusty Wet n Wild Black Creme..... I did the opposite on my ring nail and added just 1 nail sticker, traced the line with 2 coats of LA Colors silver stripe then added Top Coat.

I added the pretty white flower nail sticker from Fing'rs to my ring nails then added a coat of TC. I was hacking tree stumps this weekend and none of those stones fell off --- impressive

9021Orange Crackle post & run

This is a coat of Sally Hansen Amber Chrome ( discontinued old skool polish ) , 2 coats of Wet n Wild 9021Orange, and a coat of Ardene ( Canada ) black crackle...... I thought that 9021Orange would be very sheer and so I layered it over a chrome polish, just to save myself from needed 3 or 4 coats.

I swept it on my nails on an angle and very lightly to get this effect..... while there is still some big chunks of black, most of my nails ended up having very fine lines which I think looks cool.

stuff i used; Sally Hansen Amber Chrome, WnW 9021Orange and Ardene Black Crackle

top 1 coat of Sally Hansen Amber Chrome with 2 coats of Wet n Wild 9021Orange
bottom, just 1 coat of Sally Hansen Amber Chrome

Even though it is sheer, this is a very pretty polish - there is much better photos out there, so google it - I think the chrome base was messing with my camera but the gorgeous gold flecks showed up in photos.....

LA Colors Sparkling Diamonds

2 coats of WnW Black with 2 coat of LA Colors Sparkling Diamonds w/ Matte TC

Wet n Wild Black creme is a one-coater for me, but I used 2 today. I added 2 coats of LA Colors Sparkling Diamonds; carefully fishing out some of the larger hex glitter. It dried fast and leveled out surprisingly well considering I blobbed it on in some areas. I added a coat of TC to finish off this look.

The photo above is 1 coat of Claire's Matte Top Coat.

the floor is Lava!!!! - Klean Color Bite me and Ardene Crackle

of course I waited to find black crackle nail polish for as low priced as I could........I'm not paying 9 bucks for half a polish job lol.....

this is gonna be a quickie post & run =  I started with a base of 2 coats of Klean Color Bite me and added 1 coat of Ardene Crackle in black. It dried matte which looked really cool -  I added 2 coats of TC to this. I found this crackle polish at Ardene Stores ( Canada ) for 3 bucks.

My pinky nails I added a coat of clear and the the crackle immediatly after and I got random shaped crackles while the rest of my nails have long random crackels.

WARNING - holy craaaaaap! I tried to remove this tag on the crackle polish and black polish flicked EVERYWHERE all over my nail polish area and my hands/face!!!!!! be careful removing this ( or it might just be that I am a major clutz! )

2 coats of Klean Color Bite me no TC

This polish stained my nails badly. Both my real nails and the artificial nails in the photo. It dried shiny and quickly for me.

Billie cosmetics Mauve & stripe mani

I didn't want to remove this mani; it is so pretty! I have gotten so much use from that silver glitter stripe polish, it has saved the day ( or I should say - saved my mani ) so many times.

I started with a base of Billie Cosmetics Mauve ( whaaaaaat?  this is flourescent purple, no where close to mauve ), then applied a piece of green painters tape that I cut to size to the center of my nail and added the black polish at the base of my nails and Sally Hansen Moonstone chrome to the area at the tips of my nails.

When I removed the tape there were some polish 'mistakes' so I traced the line with LA Colors Art Deco silver stripe polish.

Also; just in case anyone is curious.,.... all my computer issues were due to NOT HAVING THE NORTON ANTIVIRUS WORKING!!!! Even though I had installed it onto my computer - it didnt 'take' and so my computer has been exposed to who knows what for over 6 months. But so far nothing bad has been found and my computer is fine today. So even though there is tonnes of horrible internet virus's out there - nothing has got to me even though I had NO protection. I find that bizarre as there is always reports on the news about this virus and that trojan thing..... Thank goodness everything is cool.

Hopefully I can start following people with deez nailz..... and not miss potato head below

now I have to figure out who I followed with my other blogger account!

anyhoooooooooooooooooo- back to the polish
