sunset diagional

Here is a quick and easy diagonal mani - The base is 3 coats of  a lighter apricot coloured Kozmic Colours polish, with a darker rose/copper diagonal.

For me - this is a plain look, I have a hard time trying to wear coral, orange and peach/apricot coloured polish's; I think the colours are pretty but I never gravitate towards them when it's time to choose a nail colour ( even though I seem to have many of these colours)

 colours I used

I just used plain old Scotch tape for this diagonal mani

Joe Fresh Copper

This evenings mani is 3 thin coats of Joe Fresh Copper ---- Joe Fresh has a pretty extensive line of polish. These are 3 for $10 @ Loblaw's/Superstore. Most of the newer polishes have removable caps - I suck at applying polish with those big round handles.......

In the bottle this polish has an amazing colour shift, but didn't show up as strong on my nails. I still really love this colour, it is a beautiful strong metallic copper. This was 3 coats, no TC.

Next time I wear this I will be layering it over a dark Forest green or even Wet n Wild Black, maybe that will make that pretty green appear.

..........and thank goodness - these newer bottle have removable caps with a thinner brush handle

.......

--- I can see some of that green ---

I used a crackle/shatter polish from Ardene to dress this up. To get this look I painted it on the diagonal, I like how it turned out.

2 Autumn mani's

I started with the same artificial nails as my last mani -  then applied 1 coat of Wet n Wild The Gold and the Beautiful across the tips of my nails, then added Stripe Rite metallic copper and Stripe Rite copper glitter stripe polish.

I am so not ready for the cooler weather and eventually winter. The weather has been so lovely ~ it's hard to wear these dark vampy shades and coppers & oranges that I normally associate with cooler weather, falling leaves and autumn.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING CANADIANS

Wet n Wild The Gold and the Beautiful, Stripe Rite metallic copper, and Stripe Rite copper glitter

... and another fall color mani

I tried this exact same look with gold stripe polish and gold glitter stripe polish but there was barely any contrast, so I covered everything up with the same copper polishes I used in my previous mani.

New Blogs & NYC Bakcstage Brown, Color Workshop "Pink"

its a bright shiny copper - not brown

This is one of the three new NYC polish's from their newest limited edition collection. Backstage Brown is a lovely copper shade, like a brand new penny; so I am not sure why they are calling it Backstage Brown. This was 3 coats - it dries fast and was easy to apply - N.Y.C. polish's are always a dependable polish for me.

Sorry I am late in adding this list of new blogs. I am addicted to another forum-type website that starts with an 'R' that I would never introduce you to because it is addictive and the biggest time sucker behind nail polish blogs.

I drove myself bonkers trying to figure out how to change some blogs that are saved as 'RSS feeds' and to have them appear in proper order on my blogroll..... Here are a few new blogs ~

Backstage Brown.... I guess 'Backstage Copper' would'nt be as catchy

and this is a lovely pink shimmery-flecky polish from the Color Workshop that I found at the Dollar Tree in the USA -

I call this hand model pose 'The Lextard'

Even though I despise these big clunky polish caps, there are many beautiul nail polish's in bottles like these, and quite a few companies are using them..... so I better get used to it! I did'nt like the Sally Hansen X-treme wear polish caps when they first came out either...... but I managed.

All three of these polish's from The Color Workshop were sheer, the rose/pink colour and the apricot colour have a lovly shimmery fleck, though it looks like a foil finish in the photo above - I think these are too sheer to be called a foil finish polish. I snagged a few packages of these for franken bases...... @ .33 cents each - I should have bought more ( how many times have I written that/ said that in my life? )

..... and I added a coat of Hanna Pinktanna, a holographic micro glitter in a pink jelly base.

a fuzzy picture to show off that holo glitter ( no TC )

New Blogs & spotlight nails

I started with a base of copper artificial nails, then used a black stripe polish to make the lines, filled in with WnW Black Creme, then traced the line with Stripe Rite copper glitter. I filled in my pinky nail with glitter, but thought that just tracing the outline of the spotlight was 'enough'. PLUS ~ I remembered how this glitter sucked up top coat, and didn't want to add too many layers of polish.

Wavy Gravy & Plug Yourself Sunday

I have been meaning to try this look for a few months now. I started with the same base of Copper artificial nails then traced the black area with black striping polish, then filled it in with Wet n Wild Black Creme, then used Stripe Rite Copper Glitter Striping polish for the wavy area. VERY EASY.

This Stripe Rite Glitter is a Hooongry glitter - I went over the glitter area twice resulting in a textured surface which would require more TC then a regular manicure. I did not do a proper clean-up with acetone around my cuticles as i planned on adding another thicker coat of TC for the day.

OOPS! I got a late start today - as always, please leave your blog address in my comments so I can add you to my blog roll

Also; this is the 6th time in 2011 that I have spilled nail polish! This has rarely happened to me...............

Outline the wave & trace around nail. Fill in with WnW Black Creme, Add Glitter and a coat of Top Coat

Fin.

Wow - these stripe polish's from the Bargain shop ( Canada ) are really good!

Copper Zebra & wow you guys.............

copper base with stripe rite copper stripe polish and copper glitter stripe polish

Thanks for the comments on yesterdays mani  I really did paint that up on the fly..... It was supposed to be a practice nails to be removed immediately but i wore it for the day. I have seen several fabulous manicures incorporating dots and I would like to do more for myself.  I have rounded up a a few dress making pins and other impromptu dotting tools for Sunday night to see what I can come up with. Dotting tools are available on almost every popular nail supplies order site = Born Pretty has free shipping worldwide with no $$$ order limit

For my latest look I went with the zebra stripes again. There are several ways to make them =  i like the horizontal style verses the 'V' style. This way is is much easier . Here is my latest video  ~ this video is to show the amount of time to create this than for visual quality.

Also; my hands were shaking horribly through this video. My stripe rite polish thickened up and I added ALOT of polish thinner but it was still like peanut butter. I will purchase the glitter Stripe Rite glitters in the future but am going to stay away from the creme/metallic stripe rite polish's.

Each nail took approximate 1 minute to do.......

This is a tone-on-tone look that was easy to do. I think the addition of the random glitter stripes was smart

stuff i used;

the base for this mani was artificial nails with a coat of a subtle copper flecked polish

copper stripe polish

added the glitter to random stripes

I found these old skool nails at my favirote dollar store in town

I added a coat of this lovely subtle copper flecks sheer Sally Hansen polish
