N.Y.C. Big City Dazzle Top Coat

above; 1 coat of NYC Big City Dazzle top coat over 3 coats of NYC Park Avenue.

This is a nice multi-coloured glitter top coat -- I wore it for 2 days and it stayed shiny. I probably should have added a few more coats but I kinda liked the sparse-ness of glitter ( that feels so wrong to write that). These are my real nails~I'm working on some beaded jewelery this weekend.

This is the old 'big city dazzle'. Its a frosty monstrosity that need 3 to 6 coats. The colour is pretty but I prefer my polishs's to be opaque in 2 to 3 coats.

New York Color does this with a lot of their polish's = creating an entirely new colour but keeping the same name.

here is a side-by-side of the two polish's. Its odd that they keep the same name, there is literally thousands of New York themed names they could use.

I love N.Y.C. polish's....the only complaints I have is a few of them are too sheer for my liking, but that's hardly anything to complain about.

I have 3 or 4 N.Y.C. polish's that have changed colours but kept the same name, or polish's that don't really jive with their names.

... and here is the modern NYC Park Avenue, 3 coats

N.Y.C. Top of the Gold

Oh wow! ---- This one is really pretty, too!

1 coat of N.Y.C. Top of the Gold layered over a nude polish. I wasnt sure that the nude base and the gold flakies would look good together = but it turnd out really nice. Top of the Gold is a gold flakie top coat, I found this at walmart Canada for $1.50.

I think this will look amazing over darker polish's and I will definitly be layering this over black in the future. N.Y.C. has 4 new-ish top coats; a matte, a multi-coloured fine glitter, this gold flakie one and a pretty blue and silver sparkle. All four are worth having and I think I'll have to do a N.Y.C. Top coat round up soon.

N.Y.C. Disco Inferno Top Coat

Wow---- this surprised me! I didn't think I would get this much glitter coverage out of one coat of N.Y.C. Disco Inferno. This is a multi-sized dark blue and silver glitter top coat. It was easy to apply and dried fast. I layered 1 coat of Disco Inferno over 2 coats N.Y.C. Water Street Blue.

These N.Y.C. polishes have been 2 for $3.00 for years and I am always happy with them when I wear them. They are soooooo in-expensive and I find them to be easy to apply. There is 3 new-ish glitter top coats that I hope to wear this week. If you live in Canada, and want to treat yourself - got to Walmart and splurge! $1.50 for 24 hours of glittery goodness! N.Y.C keeps adding new colours to their In A New York Minute line, and so far every one I have tried has been fabulous.

While it was nice to have shorter nails for a while --- I just don't feel glamorous without my fake nails on. These are trophy-wife length Nails that are discontinued. No-matter how bummy I feel - sitting around the house in paint stained sweat-pants, hair in a bun and no make-up--- I feel like a move star with these things on my hands.

NYC Lexingtom Lilac, 5 dollar stamp plates and PURE ICE IN CANADA!!!!!!!!!

N.Y.C. has a whole bunch of new polish's out - this might be old news to everyone but I live in a small farm village, so getting to an actual store with a display that has these polish's and actually buying some is a big deal.  I was super-duper Happy to pick up these 2 pretty polish's, N.Y.C. Lexington Lilac and Wine Bar. Hopefully next time I make it to the big city I'll find the rest of the new shades that I don't already have.

This is 3 coats wit no TC in the photos.... This colour is a lovely dusty lilac shade..... maybe a little to pink to be called lilac. I love NYC nail polish's, the Long Wearing polish's  (S.T.D. # 1 blue 4-eva ) and In a New York Minute, they are so good and sooooooooooo inexpensive. At Walmart I believe these N.Y.C. Long Wearing polish's are $1.27 CAD and the N.Y.C. In A New York Minute have been 2 for $3.00 for more than 6 months.....

Lexington Lilac and Wine Bar

I'm not really into stamping - even though I see other peoples work and love it....I am more of a fan of free-hand nail art. Anyhoo - I have had these for almost a month and this is the first time I have actually stamped! I found these at the As Seen on TV store in PoloPark Mall in WPG. for 5 bucks! - what ?

I am not sure of the band or what-not - but they start with a 'B' and have numbers if that helps anyone....

some stamping i did..... I added a swipe of glitter before TC

all the images i tried worked fine with WnW black, and some older chrome polish's.....

I was delighted to visit the cosmetic section at Walmart and see this..... way back on April 1st I spotted a lovely lady loading up this Pure Ice display. I am sooooooo happy we have these in Canada now - there is some amazing colours and beautiful glitters in this display = = YIPPEE!!!!!!!

I had hoped to quickly grab my go-to nail polish remover and avoid temptation but - I did pick up three shades...... upon chatting with this nice sales associate she took me around the corner and showed me the new Hard Candy display - wow, is there some beautiful shades..... I stayed strong and stuck to my goal of $3 bucks or less per bottle as the Hard Candy polishes were 6 bucks each.... and these were $1.97 each!
On the Pure Ice Facebook they are saying that Pure Ice is not available in Canada but here they are and there is more than enough shades and finishes in this collection to satisfy anybody.

The colours I picked up are Over You, Home Run, and Saddle me Up. Many of the names in this collection are comically risque.....

and just for fun an update on how i take indoor fluorescent photos in my photo studio lol

I taped 2 pieces of white paper to the wall and my desk and use my grocery store lamp.....

looks good, right? I usually only have to take 2 or 3 photos each and most of them turn out perfect.....

N.Y.C. High Line Green

WOW! This is an awesome polish. I love N.Y.C. In a New York Minute polish's - Most have great pigmentation, the have decent brushes and they dry fast. They are smaller than most drugstore polish's but that is reflected in the price.

This is an eye-catching colour  - I used 2 thick coats of N.Y.C. Highline Green, and a sponging of N.Y.C. Flat Iron Green with a coat of TC.

PROUD! my first nail stamping

I have a long way to go before I can pull off the stuff Ainos2 does at at all Glammed up, but I am off to a good start. I thought my first nail stamping would suck waaaaaaay more, but this isn't that bad for my first try. I started with a base of N.Y.C. Water Street Blue, then used Sally Hansen Chrome in Sapphire to do the stamping. I added a coat of Pure Ice Oh Baby and a coat of TC.

Next time I stamp, I will use a non-chrome polish as this dried way to fast for a beginner like me. I did stamp my index nail on upside down lol. Also I switched to using a cut up store card - sorry Fabricland!

Overall I thought this was easy to do and am already planning my next nail art

Also if you don't come back and share new stuff with us, please don't erase your blog - my goodness, there is some amazing nail art on there!

a coat of Pure Ice is hiding some pretty obvious goofs in this mani.....

stuff I used

the aftermath

Below; after stamping...... I had to double stamp horizontally on my middle and ring nail but could'nt match the pattern at all I think that is advanced stamping and out of my skill range for now..... I waited too long between picking up the image on the stamper and stamping my nail.

Index ( far right ) is upside down - whoops, lol

This is an awesome colour with an awesome formula ( Love NYC In a New York Minute polishes )

.... I think it's been a while since I have used Pure Ice Polish's

............................. so proud
