sunset diagional

Here is a quick and easy diagonal mani - The base is 3 coats of  a lighter apricot coloured Kozmic Colours polish, with a darker rose/copper diagonal.

For me - this is a plain look, I have a hard time trying to wear coral, orange and peach/apricot coloured polish's; I think the colours are pretty but I never gravitate towards them when it's time to choose a nail colour ( even though I seem to have many of these colours)

 colours I used

I just used plain old Scotch tape for this diagonal mani

Club Havana Moonlit Dance

I swear I don't work for Wet n Wild! Since I picked up these Megalast polish's last month,  I seem to gravitate towards them when I decide to paint my nails. WnW Club Havana is a pretty coral creme; 3 coats to opacity for me and dried surprisingly fast. Its still pretty humid in my region and I am shocked every time I polish my nails and it actually dries thoroughly.

here is a quickie dupe check --- I thought for sure these two were the same colour; but WnW Club Havana is way more coral.... This is Sally Hansen Insta Dri Orange Impulse on my ring nail - 2 coats.

1 coat of  Sally Hansen Moonlit Dance layered over 3 coats of WnW Club Havana

Update; I guess this wasn't truly, thoroughly dry because I woke up to my index and thumb having the texture of frosted glass --- but the gold bits disguised it extremely well ---- I would say that those two nails look like a tamer version of the sugar coat polish finish that is getting popular right now. Below is a photo in sun beside an actual pane of frosted glass ( not really ~ its that peel and stick window film from Canadian Tire ) I'll probably slap another coat of Moonlit Dance on my nails till I redo them.

I'm not really a fan of the sugar coat finish or sand finish but this looks pretty cool -

stuff I used...... WnW Club Havana with Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Moonlit Dance

I could not take a proper picture  of this pretty  polish. I picked this up at the DollarRama a few months ago. It is an orange jelly base with gold flecks.

This is an excellent layering polish and worked for me today as I am not really a fan of orange and coral polish's. This was $2 CAD where they are regularly priced at $8-ish at Walmart.

2 kinda boring orange mani's

My heart isn't into Halloween this year; last year I had all my interior decorations up by Oct 1st and I am just starting to decorate this evening!

Also, any time I am way for a few days and come back to add posts to my blog - there seems to be problems with blogger. I think this is the 4th time that I have gone away, then sat down to post and blogger is fudged up. Or maybe it's just my blog. sigh. It took 20 minutes to get photos into a post = whats up with that?

Anyhoo - I love the finish of Nicole Fresh Squeezed, but hate that it is streaky and needs like, 4 coats. Here I have layered it over Avon's Bare Necessity which is a pinky mauve.

This is a better photo of the actual colour.....

The base was Avon Bare Necessity, 2 coats of Nicole by OPI in Fresh Squeezed

Scotch tape manis are a fine art - I tried to do an orange/green scotch tape look but it turned out terrible - even glitter wouldn't fix it.  I used Avon Olive Green ( USA version )

....... and here is how I make good use out of polish with a nasty frost finish...... Sponge! I started with a base of Wet n Wild Sunny Side up - 3 coats - then sponged on Nail Fetish Clash, then added a coat of Love My Nails Dazzling. No TC in these photos.

Bright oranges and pinks always mess with my camera..... I'll have to hunt around on the Internet to figure out what I can do to counteract that problem.

9021Orange Crackle post & run

This is a coat of Sally Hansen Amber Chrome ( discontinued old skool polish ) , 2 coats of Wet n Wild 9021Orange, and a coat of Ardene ( Canada ) black crackle...... I thought that 9021Orange would be very sheer and so I layered it over a chrome polish, just to save myself from needed 3 or 4 coats.

I swept it on my nails on an angle and very lightly to get this effect..... while there is still some big chunks of black, most of my nails ended up having very fine lines which I think looks cool.

stuff i used; Sally Hansen Amber Chrome, WnW 9021Orange and Ardene Black Crackle

top 1 coat of Sally Hansen Amber Chrome with 2 coats of Wet n Wild 9021Orange
bottom, just 1 coat of Sally Hansen Amber Chrome

Even though it is sheer, this is a very pretty polish - there is much better photos out there, so google it - I think the chrome base was messing with my camera but the gorgeous gold flecks showed up in photos.....

Klean Color Wicked Witch halloween mini's

above 2 thin coats of Boogie Nights no top coat

I spotted this at a grocery store in the big city for $3.99, I loved those 365 nail polish's from Klean Color and wanted to try a few more from this brand. Even though I found this is a B&M - Klean Color has free shipping over $40 and has re-vamped their web-site with really awesome bottle shot photos. I have seen quite a few swatches of the metallic and chrome polish's and I really, really, want that ONE COAT Metallic Green. ( and here is a few more swatches of the metallic from Klean Color )

Although these are mini's it appears that they are also available in full size bottles; which is nice. I love to see in-expensive but easily available, good quality nail polish that dries fast and does'nt need a million coats to opacity. Makes me happy!

I did a quickie swatch of 5 of these polish and they are awesome!!!!!! I thought I read somewhere that they were one of the stinkiest brand of polish's. Even though they have a unique odor - I don't find them offensive; and I know about stinky nail polish lol ( My smelly polish retrospective nail polish post HERE )

below all 1 coat - except ring which is 2 thin coats

clockwise; Bite Me, Concrete Grey, Military Green, Black

I wore the orange polish Boogie Nights as the base for this "nail art". I tried to copy a look I have seen recently but was too heavy handed with my striping polish, as well as using polish colours that were similar so the design barely shows up. Klean Color Boogie Nights has a very nice glow to it, which  is something I enjoy about orange polish.

For this Mani I used Boogie Nights, NYC Spring Street, and a light orange pastel stripe polish. I added a small amount of Nicole Fresh Squeezed by OPI in here, too, but it is barely visible.

Zebra/Cheetah combo copy & Plug Yourself Sunday

I copied this nail art from Red Hair and Black Polish ( her's is prettier ) I am trying to use orange nail polish at least once a month - but it hard to be enthusiastic about it.... Orange and baby/ pastel pinks are two polish colours I very rarely reach for....

I started with a base of an orange sherbert franken, then used a striping brush to make the zebra stripes with Wet n Wild Sunny Side up leaving a triangular area where I sponged Nicole Fresh Squeezed, then used a small brush to make the cheetah spots with Mavala Nice in the triangular area......

I wanted to draw a black rose in the triangular area but played it safe and chose cheetah stripes instead. I have tried the zebra/cheetah combo before and it did not work out as well as this.

As always please leave your nail blog link in the comments and I will add you to my blogroll

RIGHT NOW, AND FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FOLLOW 80% OF THE PEOPLE I TRY TO FOLLOW, ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM? WHY WAS THAT IN CAPS, NO TIME TO FIX IT.......I AM NOT THAT MAD ABOUT IT LOL

stuff i used, franken, WnW Sunny Side Up, Nicole Fresh Squeezed, Mavala Nice

the orange franken I wore for 1 week

Here is another franken I made using the same 2 Billie Cosmetic's polish's; Orange and French White. I wore this polish for 5 days before I layered Nicole Fresh Squeezed over it.

I have added just plain white polish to many sheer or boring polish's with great results. This Billie Orange polish franken  gets alot of use.

w/Billie Orange......

here I have layered Nicole Fresh Squeezed over my pastel orange franken

This Nicole polish was much more sheer then I thought it would be. I think that without layering this over another polish, it would require 3 to 5 coats to hide visible nail lines and even out the brush marks. Thankfully I only paid 50 cents for this at a garage sale - otherwise I would be disappointed with this one.

... and I wore this polish a few weeks ago, Billie Cosmetic's Burning Hot 3 thin coats
It is a shimmery burnt orange, like Orly`s Oh La La

more orange manis's, garage sale finds & polish thinner

I started with Claire's Dreamsicle, then sponged on 3 bright neon creme polish's. I added matte top coat; didn't like it, then added a shimmery micro-glitter franken. One of the polish's I used - Claire's Neon Burst, is impossible to photograph, it is a super duper bright neon orange.here is a photo from a previous mani

on all my nails except my pinky - I layered Claire's Neon Burst over white. My pinky  nail is just 3 coats of Neon Burst

The polish i used for this mani.....
Claire's Dreamsicle, Claire's Neon Burst, Icing no name orange shimmer, Claire's frosty orange mini

Oh now I remeber why this is at the back of my deez-elmer...... This polish; Claire's Dreamsicle is sheer, needs 4 or 5 coats and bubbled like crazy the last time I wore it. It is a pretty colour but after seeing it at 2 coats I decided to sponge on some bright orange creme's

this is what I started with; Claire's Dreamsicle 2 coats - no TC

here is a waaaaaaaaay better photo of this pretty polish
{ with bubbles lol }

and finally some garage sale success!I hardly ever find polish at garage sales so I am a happy girl

Nicole Fresh Squeezed, WnW Virtual nails in Virtual Diamond ( never heard of virtual nails before) SH Xtreme Wear in Purple Potion, and NYC Big Money.

I'm not really a fan of Nicole or OPI polish, but for 50 cents I couldn't pass that up. The other three polish's were 10 cents! Yippee ♥♥♥

....and I finally bought polish thinner, fixed up a few polish's and have almost a whole bottle left!

This matte top coat from Maybelline was almost un-useable so I had to add polish thinner......

I had to add alot of polish thinner to this; the darker area is the actual top coat, and the clear area between the green lines is polish thinner.

I picked up Beauty Secrets acetone, and beauty secrets Nail Polish Thinner the last time I visited Sally's beauty supply. I have fixed-up 15 or more polish's and I still have 3/4 of the bottle. I am sure that this will last me a lifetime.

so I fixed this Maybelline TC; but this mani did not look good matte

... and one more mani; very rarely seen on my blog is orange polish. I rarely wear orange so I rounded up all my orange polish, threw them in a basket and am on a mission to wear them all.

I only have 2 Mavala polish's. The formula on both is great. This is a medium burnt orange creme shade that needs 3 or more coats to full opacity. I actually wore this for a whole day plain.... but added the dots just before I took it off.

2 coats of Mavala #72 Nice, no TC

... and some dotting practice
♥
