Spoiled - Are Mermaids Real?

No, sorry  -  mermaids are not real. But what is real is how pretty this purple jelly gold fleck polish is. I think this would be pretty layered over any similar hues polish, I chose to wear it alone, 3 coats with base coat ( no TC )

I was super duper happy to spot this at CVS in the U.S.A. along with another Spoiled polish I had my heart set on. the formula was great and it dried fast ---- I am totally impressed that it held up as well as it did, given that I have been rough on my hands and nails lately.

I wore this through some gardening and outdoors-ey stuff and it held up really, really well. Since I have been trying to avoid any scented products and lotions, my cuticles look ragged and horrible - but my nails are strong and are holding up to gardening, painting, sanding and all sorts of house stuff ---- Normally my natural nails are flimsy and peel, but barely seeing a drop of lotion for the last few weeks has done my actual nails some good.....

Also; I have finally got my Blogloving all sorted out so I can make sure I never miss anyone's posts, and included a blogloving button on my blog. That blogloving is way more conveinent then google reader! I feel so out of the loop and have missed alot but I am catching up!

Neither Coral, nor Creme ....... maybe classic

I don't know if that's the best title for a blog post....... This is a fabulous polish that I wore for 1 and 3/4 of a day - I did not want to remove it. I found this and the THE ENTIRE LINE-UP of N.Y.C. Long Wearing polish at Walmart in the big city ( Canada ) last weekend. While I am happy about that, they seem to have removed N.Y.C. In a York Minute from store shelves. Hopefully it's just a temporary thing and they will bring them back. In the mean time, Most of the N.Y.C. Long Wearing Polish are pretty awesome, and I will cook up a spam post with all the ones I have swatched in the near future.

Back to this polish. It is a GORGEOUS pink glass flecked polish = NOT a creme. It is definitly pink with barely any coral to show. This is probally one of those 're-formulations' where they kept the name but totally changed the polish. Does anyone on the world have a previous version of this polish that os actually coral, or a creme?

I layered 2 coats of N.Y.C. Classic Coral Creme over one of those cute mini  Sweet Serenity polish's I found at the Dollar Rama. Instead of french tip guides or scotch tape, I used a product I found at the Office Store that people use for creating grids on office wipe boards.

it's called 'colored vinyl chart tape' and it's not sticky, so when its humid in my nail room I wont have to worry about a sticky gooey residue.

stuff I used; NYC Classic Coral Creme, Sweet Serenity no name mini from DollarRama Canada

3 coats..... with a few bare spots. I am impessed that these are even @ the Dollar Rama because the first few bottles of these that I purchased were CRAP! They were water based polish's that did not dry. They have since changed their formula and the last few sets I bought had some pretty shades ( but some were streaky frosty )

ChG Watermelon Rind

I am trying to wear some polish's that have been living in the back of my Deez-elmer..... China Glaze Watermelon Rind is a lovely dark green jelly with silver and some blue glass flecks. This needs 3 coats or more to be opaque, so I layered it over Icing Manic Monday, a dark green that is usually opaque in 2 coats.

2 kinda boring orange mani's

My heart isn't into Halloween this year; last year I had all my interior decorations up by Oct 1st and I am just starting to decorate this evening!

Also, any time I am way for a few days and come back to add posts to my blog - there seems to be problems with blogger. I think this is the 4th time that I have gone away, then sat down to post and blogger is fudged up. Or maybe it's just my blog. sigh. It took 20 minutes to get photos into a post = whats up with that?

Anyhoo - I love the finish of Nicole Fresh Squeezed, but hate that it is streaky and needs like, 4 coats. Here I have layered it over Avon's Bare Necessity which is a pinky mauve.

This is a better photo of the actual colour.....

The base was Avon Bare Necessity, 2 coats of Nicole by OPI in Fresh Squeezed

Scotch tape manis are a fine art - I tried to do an orange/green scotch tape look but it turned out terrible - even glitter wouldn't fix it.  I used Avon Olive Green ( USA version )

....... and here is how I make good use out of polish with a nasty frost finish...... Sponge! I started with a base of Wet n Wild Sunny Side up - 3 coats - then sponged on Nail Fetish Clash, then added a coat of Love My Nails Dazzling. No TC in these photos.

Bright oranges and pinks always mess with my camera..... I'll have to hunt around on the Internet to figure out what I can do to counteract that problem.

purple zebra stripes

I am still wearing those old skool Nial Fetish artificial nails, I added a coat of China Glaze Grape Juice which is a lovely light purple glass flecked polish, then painted zebra striped with the nail striping polish from Klean Color, then added a coat of Pure Ice Busted, a translucent lilac shade with gold purple and hot pink flecks of..... flecks.

I like that the Pure Ice polish smoothes out any wonky zebra stripes, I did a fast, careless polish job because this was my third try with nail art yesterday evening.... hopefully I'll get back on track.

.....and - I fixed my camera battery issue, I guess the little things were not connecting when I placed it in the battery charger - I was really worried about that! And also none of my photos have TC today its way easier to get a clear non-fuzzy photo without TC.

Claire's Venomous, Poison Apple, Evil Queen

These 3 polish's from Claire's are supposed to be knock-off's of Mac's Venomous Villains collection, they have also been compared to some of the Orly Cosmic FX polish's. They are not as pretty as I thought they would be ~ I'm not complaining ~ I think all three are beautiful, but it is "the curse of me buying Claire's Polish's at full price" I usually wait for them to go on sale, but when I saw Poison apple and Venomous I bought them right away because I figured they would sell out fast   and right now there is a stack on the bargain rack at the Claire's store - this has happened like, 3 times!

This post is a few ways that I wore these 3 polish's. I though I should round all these mani's up and add them in one super post.

I thought the flecks would have alot more oomph, however every time I wore these 3 polish's, there was NO SUN!!!!! all 5 times!!!!! there was a window of 3 hours of sunshine when I wore Venomous the second time in a sponge mani (below)

This is 2 coats of an older Sally Hansen Color Fast polish Mocha Ice Frost, I first applied Claire's Venomous like a french manicure, then when it dried a little I sponged some more Venomous  to blend with my base polish. Claire's Venomous is a sheer green jelly base with flecks that shift from gold to a pretty purple/lilac/pink.

Some tiny pieces of the sponge broke off and are embedded into my polish. Next time I will cut the sponge I use apart - not rip it,

the colour shift in this polish is a pretty gold, to a muted pink/purple. The base is a swamp green jelly

normally ` the gif's I make are much more crisp and clear, don't know why it's so fuzzy

these photos are taken at a slightly different distance from the light source - a 1 inch difference

romantic lamp lighting

from a previous post; my ring nail is 3 or 4 coats of Claire's Venomous, while the rest of my nails are 3 coats layered over a dark blue polish

Here is a photo of Claire's Poison Apple. I haven't re-worn this but have it in my ' to wear' basket. The Polish-aholic did a lovely comparison of this and Mac's Bad Fairy.

Claire's Evil Queen

below is 3 coats of Rimmel Glam Goth, part of a limited edition of products that I found at the grocery store last winter. I am NOT A FAN OF LIMITED EDITION STUFF, so normally I woudn't purchase a polish that looks like a plain dark purple polish. BUT = this has the tinyest hot pink and sapphire blue micro-shimmer in it that is very unique, suspended in a black jelly base.

I layered 1 coat of Claire's Evil Queen, which has the same base shade as this Rimmel polish. Claire's Evil Queen is a dark purple jelly base with flecks of teal-ish ....flecks

This is 1 coat of Claire's Evil Queen Layered over Rimmel Glam Goth

...and finally, this is 2 coats of Evil Queen ( again ), layered over Sally Hansen X-treme Wear Grey Area. My ring nails are 2 coats of Grey area and a coat of Pure Ice Oh Baby. I looooove Pure Ice Oh Baby, and there really is no relevance for me to layer Pure Ice Oh Baby over Grey Area to compare it to Evil Queen, I just happened to be wearing the X-treme Wear polish w/ Oh Baby Layered over it  when I bought Evil Queen and wanted to wear it right away.

I though for sure that the flecks in Pure Ice Oh Baby were the same in Claire's Evil Queen, but the Pure Ice flecks seem to have alot more oomph to them -  they are more noticeable and sparkly
