Wet n Wild glittery red nail art

Todays mani is a bright red from the Wet n Wild MegaLast Collection. I used a thin striping brush to make curved lines with Wet n Wild Wild Shine Burgundy Frost, a swipe of Wet n Wild Mega Last in On the 101 = a pretty, multi-sized glitter in a black jelly base. I also added a few strokes of Witchcraft Red Glitter, for maximum glittery-ness

I added a coat of Pro-FX TC. This smoothed out any bumpy-ness -  but I find that this TC takes alot of work to remove with regular polish remover becuase it is sooooo thick.

Stuff I used for this mani

This is a lively bright red, 3 coats

..... with the addition of Burgundy Frost

  then glitter and top coat

I used Pro-FX TC for this mani

Matte neon dollar store sprinkles and Sinful Colors Timbleberry

For some reason I didn't take an actual, whole 5 nail manicure photo ---- how did i pull that off? I guess I was excited about these neat matte neon glitters that I found at The Dollar Tree. Instead of mixing these into a clear base, I opted to do a glitter sprinkle.  The ratio of glitter here is 3 parts orange, 1 part purple and 1 part blue.

I started with a base of Claire's Matte Grey, when it dried I applied a coat of Pro FX Top Coat, then stuck a fluffy brush into my glitter mix and sprinkled it onto my nail. I applied a coat of TC to seal it all in. I wanted to see what I kind of glitter density I could achieve, so I went buck wild and sprinkled on copious amounts of matte neon glitter to my pinky and ring nail.

I made a franken with this matte glitter but I prefer the glitter sprinkle method as opposed to an actual franken. dipping a fluffy dry brush into a container of glitter, then sprinkling it onto wet polish seems faster, I am able to achieve more glitter coverage and I can fill in sparse areas just as easily with sprinkling it on.

here is a photo of the package of glitter from The Dollar Tree

.............. and now there is matte neon glitter all over my nail polishing area, those tiny little baggies of glitter below were not sealed properly, so the glitter leaked everywhere. I thought that I taped them up well but some glitter escaped.

stuff I used

R- with 1 coat of TC          --         L; immediately after sprinkling

I laid on a seriously thick coat of TC here and so I got the bubbles!

ummmm what's a Timbleberry? I know that there are Thimbleberrys, but I don think that timbleberry's are a real berry ---- anyhoo -- Sinful Colors Timbleberry is a lovely bright reddish coral. 3 coats w/ TC even though this dried extremely shiny on it's own. I forgot about these photo's so I am tacking them along with this matte glitter post.

..... and now I have to get the vacuum out to suck up all that glitter

Icing Love-It and Wet N Wild Candy-Licious

I love all sorts of glitter but this polish wasn't glittery enough for me. I  recently visited an Icing Store and picked up quite a few of these Icing polishes. We used to have one in the nearest big city but they closed down, it was one of the only reasons I even went to the mall in that town. Anyways, this is a blue/gold/magenta/black glitter that I found too sparse for my glitter neeeds - but I love black glitter right now so  I suppose I will hang onto it.

The base is 3 coats of a light pink creme from Wet N Wild Megalast. I am loving these Megalast polishes from Wet n Wild. I probably could have added another coat as I had a few sparse areas but it was a nice day and I wanted to hang out outside.

WnW Mega Last Candy-Licious on its own... 3 coats

......... and here is another pretty WnW Mega Last mani; I heard it Through the Grapevine.  2 coats.

I used this L.A. Colors top/base for this mani and I don't think it dried fast enough..... next time I will give it more time to dry as a base coat. The smudge was not due to the polish but to clumsiness on my part; I really should try to sit still for at least 3 minutes immediately after I paint my nails lol. To disguise the smudge I dabbed on a little more WnW Heard it Through the Grapevine then added a coat of Wet n Wild Fast Dry Hannah Pinktanna.

This polish bottle magically opened by itself and leaked all over the place. I dont recall many blog posts about this basecoat/topcoat, maybe there is a good reason why? Or I need to let it dry a little bit longer before applying my nail polish.

stuff I used Wet n Wild Mega Last I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Fast Dry Hannah Pinktanna & L.A. Colors Base coat/Topcoat.

Hanna Pink Tanna and Blue Wants to be a millionaire are pretty holographic glitter polish's that have saved so many manicure crisis's, the brush's are a little stiff but these are great to have around for nail polish snafu's.

Wet n Wild Mega Last in Canada?

So has the new line-up of Wet n Wild MegaLast shown up in Canada yet? the last time I was in a Canadian department store they had 12 shades of MegaLast polish, pretty cremes and subtle shimmers. However, on a recent trip to the U.S.A. I picked up a handful of the beautiful glitters - but am craving more. I am so glad I popped into the Dollar General store because it was a nail polish goldmine!

Is that collection supposed to end up in Canada? Anyone know? I hope so because there is at least 12 more that I want!!!!!!There is some seriously beautiful polish's in that collection and they have a great formula and a good price.

This mani is 2 coats of MegaLast I Red a Good Book with 3 coats of Club Cabaret layered over it. I just saw  on Nouvea Cheap's blog ( U.S.A.- Sorry rest of the world  ) that these two polish's are being sold together for 2.99 @ Walgreen's. I think these are under $3.00 \cad, but I can't remember how much for sure.

Wn'W Club Cabaret is a pretty red/silver multi-sized glitter. My only complaint is that there is not more of a colour distinction between the larger hex glitter and the smaller round glitter. I think the small bubbles helped fill in some glitter-sparse areas - lol.

Pure Ice Over You

Over you from Pure Ice is a dense glitter with 2 sizes of lilac glitter, 2 sizes of teal hex glitter and teal bar glitter.....Today's mani is 2 coats of Over You layered over Lacey Lilac and a coat of TC. I kinda wish there was less lilac glitter in this; it hides the beautiful teal glitter ( less glitter? wtf is wrong with me )

Pure Ice Over You applied perfectly, it's a very dense glitter that dried fast. I am excited to pick up a few of the other glitters from their collection that recently showed up in Canadian walmarts!

I spilled white nail polish all over my hands and parts of my desk, so those aren't dry cuticle you are looking at. Yesterdays mani left major stains on my fingers and cuticles as well - so tonight I am going to take extra care, slather on some serious moisturizer with cuticle oil and possibly some barrier creme for My poor hands.

this is from Pure Ice Saddle me up

although - it could be from the no-name walmart nail polish remover I am using right now - they did not have the Sally Hansen nail polish remover for artificial nails that I usually buy when I went to the big city..... so I had to buy the walmart brand of remover.......

Here is a few more photos of this beauty -

smorg of glitter!

I added a coat of Wet n Wild to my artificial black nails, then a smorg of Love my Nails Glitters; Pretty in Pink, All That and Crystal. I had to fish out the larger hex glitters in Crystal and Pretty in Pink and concentrate them at the base of my nails, they eclipse the purple and silver square glitter of All That. I spread out the finer smaller glitters over the rest of my nail and laid it on pretty thick over the hex glitters and I still needed 2 coats of TC.

I do like to make fun of the description of Love my Nails Polish " For that deep wet look " - What does that even mean? lol! I like this brand of polish - I picked these up at Walmart in the USA for $1.00, they have some lovely colours, Love my Nails Dazzling is sooooooo worth having ( or any polish similar to it )

Glitter Bomb

1 coat of Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac with un-named ( but awesome ) Icing polish's and Wet n Wild Party of Five Glitters. I love Lacey Lilac, it is the perfect pastel purple creme - and I can usually use just one coat for perfect coverage. I added 1 coat of a multi-colored Icing polish, then one coat of a lovely blue and silver glitter, then 2 coats of the WnW Party of Five Glitters.

The purple seems like an odd choice as a base for this multi-coloured glitter bomb, but it works! I kept this on my nails for 2 full days. I am wearing artificial nails here, but removal on my pinky - which is my REAL nail - wasnt that bad.

No-Name Icing mini's, Wet nWild Party of Five Glitters

1 coat each of the above glitter polish
