MORE! NYC in a New York Minute polish's

4 thin coats of NYC Chelsea w/TC

So I'm pretty much copying what Steph at Steph's closet wrote about this, Chelsea is a deep candy apple shimmer....  I love the shimmer in this polish and like this shade of red. This polish needed 4 thin coats * could be 5 * but it dried ridiculously fast, so I cannot complain.

The Website for NYC In A New York Minute has not been updated with their recent additions, and there is a few on there that are no longer in the current Canadian collection. One very pretty one that I do not have is called Fifth Avenue, a coppery orange shimmer. I'll have to hunt around my town and see if I can round one up.

NYC Manhattan is a deep burgundy magenta creme - YESSSSS! a creme, my favorite polish finish. I kept messing up my paint job by touching stuff and brushing the surface of my nails against things, so this is just 2 coats because I had to remove this and start over. I didnt even bother to do a proper clean up ~ I somehow managed to get polish on the back of my hand ( wtf  lol )

I love this colour and am happy that it is a dark vampy shade, but not so dark that you can't tell it is purple. I'll have to hunt through my collection and see what it is comparable to. The formula on this was perfect and it dried very, very  fast......

about those boring NYC In a New York Minute polish's

3 thin coats of NYC in a New York Minute Downtown. No TC

So, for whatever reason, I kept passing these NYC polish's when I hit up various drug stores or Dept Stores.... they just didnt seem worth purchasing at the time. So far I am impressed with all 6 of these shades, though MoMa is way to sheer for my tastes, these all have a great formula, dry fast, and are surprisingly lovely colours.

Any polish that is opaque in less than 3 thin coats and dry's fast is fabulous to me; BUT I have to apologize for my lack of accurate colour descriptions for these two polish's. MoMA is a bright but sheer Barbie Pink, while Down Town is a nice mulberry colour. Steph of Steph's Closet wrote " Downtown 244B - a dusty pomegranate pink creme." So I'm going with that

L-R Canal Street, Chelsea, MoMa, Down Town, Park Avenue, Manhatten

MoMA is a beautiful bright shade - but it is very sheer and needs 4 to 5 coats to cover.

2 coats / 1 coat on my index nail.... this is extremely sheer, but it is definitely an eye-catching color, ewwwwwe - you can see through my nails!

2 thin coats of NYC MoMA, needs 4 to 5 to opacity, I'll have to layer this over white polish or a buff skin toned shade next time I wear it. This color is very Barbie-ish....I do like it just wish it was more of a creme polish and not jelly-ish.

on the left; Sinful Colors Just You Wait, which I have worn HERE, and the mystery Sinful Color - I swear this had a label when I bought it. It is a shimmery glass fleck pink. I'll have to swatch it soon to figure out it's real name.

Sinful Colors Just You Wait.....

and wait I did! almost 10 months after seeing this fabulous duo-chrome polish on Mary's Blog, Body and Soul - I have it! I found this in Canada at London Drugs, it was a surprise to see the Sinful Colors polish's collection here in Canada. So far they only have the boring, work appropriate shades, none of the funky bright polish's that can be found at Walgreen's USA or on-line at Cherry culture and the Sinful Colors website.

I really really wanted this polish - and now I have it. It is a fabulous STRONG duo-chrome that ranks right up with the older Sally Hansen Duo-Chrome Nail Prisms, too bad it's all gloomy and cloudy outside.  Indoors the duo-chrome is apparent, but it shows more of a flashy evergreen, with a slight tinge of golden shimmer.

I have layered 1 coat of Sinful Colors Just You wait over my previous mani, NYC Canal Street, I added 2 outdoor pic's of that must have polish as well in this post. While these photos under cloudy skies do not showcase the gorgeous green to burgundy to purple to gold duo-chrome, the effect is still visible. This is another must have.

It looks so boring the bottle, what a surprise! My next American acquisition will be Love My Nails Dazzling -  it is soooooo pretty, and only .99 cents ( seriously! ) If you have a chance to check out the Walmart USA website, there is fabulous photos of most of the LOVE My Nails polish's ( do not pick a location on the walmart website, just type in love my nails..... or it doesn't show up for some reason )

I am puzzled that there is so many in-expensive and friggen awesome polish's out there that rarely end up on blogs, I'm talking more about polish available in the USA that are in-expensive and can be found easily at Walmarts or other department stores and drug-stores. I'm just one girl from Canada, so I am calling out USA polish lovers go model those cheap, readily available polish's that are often overlooked. there has been more 'coverage' of these in recent months, but if you happen to have any shades that are spectacular or that need to be known about, I hope that more people will blog about those.

♥ I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Years Eve ♥

♥ NYC Canal Street ♥

NYC Canal Street  3 thin coats - this IS AN AWESOME POLISH!

Well, well, well ~ i FAIL AT AUTO-POST!

Merry Christmas nail polish blog-land and pardon me for not double-checking my blog & auto-post feature. Hopefully everyone had a fun, enjoyable holiday. I am happy to be home.

This week I plan to model the rest of the NYC In A New York Minute polish's I have acquired recently - the 'sorta boring common' shades that I seem to have passed on previously. I think because the display for this brand is all tucked away and squished together I tend to pass them by. These polish's dry fast and have superb colour pay-off, there is a great selection of colours and the formula is awesome. I loooooooove these! I am sorry I waited so long to buy them all.

This is 3 thin coats of NYC Canal Street, a rich bronze-burgundy. It looks like a metallic foil on the nail - but it is not a foil, so there will be no bits of silver all over my hands . I know there are some great outdoor swatches of this on Google images, but I still want to get outside for some better macro shots in the a.m. tomorrow. This formula is fabulous and it applied wonderfully. I am appalled that these are only .99 cents to $2.50-ish they are definitely a superior polish and it is worth having the entire collection ( even the boring work appropriate colours are nice! )

all my photos are indoors under fluorescent lighting.....( EDIT I added 2 outdoor shots )

2 snowey looks with Sally Hansen Candy Lace

franken w/ Fing'rs nail art paint & S.H. Candy Lace

so this is supposed to be icicles, anti-gravitational icicles, because the blue base polish is a sky blue, and they really are hanging off of nothing...... Whatever, just go with it lol!

2 thin coats of a franken I made with Wet n' Wild Blue Sapphire and white - seriously; Wet n' wild frankens turn out the best! I used Billie White which encapsulated all the shimmer in Wet n Wild Blue Sapphire. An added bonus to that is in Canada they are like 2 bucks each ( in USA .99 cents ) but many of th colors I have mixed up turned out lovely.

so; I started drawing vertical lines with the fing'rs nail art strip polish, then filled in the areas.... I had to go over 3 times to get the look I wanted. I know this would work out lovely with white nail polish and a fine brush ( thats for another day).

filled it all in, fixed up some sparse areas....

added 2 coats of Sally Hansen Candy Lace

voila!

I wanted to add this polish to my must haves, because I really love it - but I do not have any great photos of it. I love all the irregular sized chunks of flecks in it.... It is a perfect rendition of those big fluffy globs of snow that sometimes fall.

This is is 3 thin coats of Sally Hansen Candy Lace layered over a VERY sheer Icing LE no-name.
